The Housing Leaderboards
The Leaderboards window has a new look. Read about the Housing and Leaderboards UI Window here.
What are the leaderboards?
The leaderboards are a way for players to publish their homes for others to easily visit. Once there, the visitors have the option to "like" the home in both style and creativity categories.
How do the ratings work?
Every time a visitor "likes" a house in either the creativity or style categories, the house moves up in the recent category based on the total number of votes received. A visitor's vote will remain on a house's recent list for a week, but the overall vote remains for the house.
**Edit - The time was changed for how long a "recent" vote will linger on a house for houses in the Hall of Fame category. It is no longer a week... but, it has not been pinpointed yet on the duration. It's something really long though and appears to last for months without needing to refresh. Additionally, this has slowed the decay on rankings and hade house rotation more difficult. There was a Facebook thread discussion about the change happening Here.

What does the color of a house's name mean?

What happens when I Unpublish a House?
If you unpublish a house, you loose all Overall AND Recent likes on the property; however, you do keep and Awards that have accumulated on the property. The next time you publish that property, the awards are still present.
How are awards issued?
Awards are calculated at a specific time of the day (6pm PST) and the awards are based on the state at that time. Each day, the top 5 homes for creativity and the top 5 homes for style receive an award, with the #1 ranked house receiving both a gold and silver award. So, if you are ranked #4 on Recent Style and #6 on Recent Creativity, you would only receive one silver award for style. But, if you are ranked #1 in Style and #1 in Creativity, you would receive 4 awards (2 gold and 2 silver)
How do houses make it to the Hall of Fame?
When a house receives a total of any 50 awards, it will automatically be moved to the Hall of Fame category. The homeowner will then be mailed a House Rating Trophy and receive a title based on how many houses they have in the Hall of Fame. You can receive up to 10 unique titles.
