The Hunger Games: Quarter Quell Arena
Location: Tinkerbele - Vale of Halfpint Delight - Crushbone Server
This zone is based on the arena from the 2nd book in The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
The Vale was chosen for location for 2 reasons. One, there is a vast expanse of swimmable water! And two, the ambient sounds of the zone were great for the outdoor space. I only wish the item count was larger :)
-SPOILER ALERT- if you haven't read the second book! So you might not want to look.

Entering the Vale zones you into the Tribute Holding Room. This room is the last place you will be before entering the arena. The book explains that necause of the massive explosion, most of the original arena was destroyed. What could be salvaged above has been slightly restored and preserved for visitors to witness the location of these important Games in the history of Panem.
Step on to the teleport pad to rise through the tunnel and enter the arena. (There is an outfit provided on a mannequin to the right just out of the photo for visitors to wear)

View upon entering the arena. Shall you swim to the cornocoupia first, or make your way to the jungle behind?
Underwater view - maybe you will find a pearl too!
View looking across to other side of arena
The 1:00 - 2:00 wedge - Blood Rain
The 2:00 - 3:00 wedge - Paralyzing Fog
The 3:00 - 4:00 wedge - Monkey Mutations
The 4:00 - 5:00 wedge - Jabberjays
The 5:00 - 6:00 wedge - there were unknown horrors in this time wedge. But, here we show you some of the animals our contestants encountered while in the arena as a source of food. Behold, the tree rat!
The 6:00 - 7:00 wedge - the ferocious creature in this time wedge was referred to only as The Beast
The 7:00 - 8:00 wedge - we do not know what evil lurked in this time zone, but here it is illustrated how tributes found their water source in the arena within the trees.
The 8:00 - 9:00 wedge - there were unknown horrors in this wedge that our tributes did not encounter. So, on display instead is one of the sponsor's parachutes that delivered bread and other supplies. There are also some plants containing nuts that some one the contestants ate during the games.
The 9:00 - 10:00 wedge - We do not know what awaited the tributes in this wedge, some examples of shelter and resourcefulness
The 10:00 - 11:00 wedge - Sometime during this hour, a fast-moving wave
The 11:00 - 12:00 wedge - Carnivorous Insects inhabited this area of the arena. Their pinchers were razor sharp and made clicking noises heard by tributes in adjoining sections.
The 12:00 - 1:00 wedge - This area was home to The Lightning Tree, where it all began at midnight.
A couple of random shots from the beginning of the arena construction
Just starting the initial ring of the beach and getting an idea of how big I could make the arena and not be over item count limit

Building the cornocoupia. The center island was originally sloped up, but the tiles drooping down into water cut into the limited amount of swimming space. So I eventually made the center idle flat and just had walls comming straight down to the ground.
